Wedding Donut Stands - August 2019
The first project I hired Brian to create involved making 2 donut stand for Lukas and Hanna's wedding open house, which was held at our Midway home in September 2019. (They were wed in August and had a fabulous wedding reception in Las Vegas ~ and then we had a smaller open house in Midway so that more of the Ridd relatives and college/mission friends could attend once they were all back from the summer break). I had priced out similar donut stands online - even to rent - and nothing was what I was thinking of exactly! Besides this, they were so pricey for "not exactly the right thing!"
Brian did a great job on these! He used some of Grandpa Leon's tools from his shop at 3966, as we didn't have many tools in Midway or in Ivins yet.
As you can see, the donut holders turned out awesome and held quite a few donuts at one time! Each rod holds 12 donuts, and there are four rods on each donut holder...so together a total of 96 donuts (8 dozen donuts) can be held on these at one time! (We also used a few regular elevated cake stands for additional donuts, and we had a big freezer full of yummy individual ice cream cups - ice cream from the BYU Creamery - delish!!).
