Christmas Card Display Ladder - aka Blanket Ladder - Christmas 2020
Next commission was the Christmas card display ladder (normal people might call it a Blanket Ladder). I was looking for a way to display the Christmas cards we received this past year, and I couldn't figure out a place to do it! In our last home, we hung them on pillars that we had in our home, but we can't do it at our new home as it would rip the paint from the walls. Then I saw an idea where someone used a blanket ladder to tie jute onto, and pin the cards onto the jute with mini clothespins.
Sounded like a great idea, so I sold Brian on it! He built a great ladder...as long as no one actually tries to climb it! (For decor only). It served its purpose wonderfully, and it was so fun to see all of our friends and family's Christmas cards. Christmas is my favorite time of the year, especially seeing and hearing from loved ones near and far...and I LOVE to see their photos hanging up, which reminds me of how greatly I've been blessed by them.
After the ladder was created, I stained it with Danish oil (my favorite stain!). I am the CS (Chief Stainer) for Brian's wood working. :)
In its off-season, I've actually hung a blanket on it!
